Enjoy with Pousadas de Compostela the Outono Códax Festival
The fifth edition of Outono Códax Festival returns to provide that extra bit of soul that a city like Santiago deserves. Pousadas de Compostela brings its grain of sand alongside the Bodegas Martin Codax, Raíña Producións and A Reixa Tenda for over three Saturdays, two in September and the first one of October, timeless styles like soul, classical rock'n'roll and the rhythm 'n blues resurrected and meet a new generation of lovers of this music. Again, the scene of the Sala Capitol host to legends and rising consecrated promises.
The poster for this year remains in line with previous editions, where the legends of the genre shared show with the new values of the soul that have been germinating in Spain over the past years.
Of course, live music is the center of the festival though Outono Códax not left alone on stage: follow-up to this year want to involve the Old Town in the feasts. On the one hand, it will open in the space Numax an exhibition of the photographer Lawrence Impey. The cameraman was linked to the history of rock; Among his best known portraits are those of bands like The Police or Blondie, there will be DJ sessions at the legendary pub A Reixa after each performance -the famous allnighters-- and music will occupy street. Even the food will have a place on Sept. 26 with a tasting of the "Tapa do Outono".
But let's what matters: the line-up. The Outono Códax Festival opens on Saturday September 19 with a cast that combines with the autochthonous legendary: The Transilvanians from Vigo will be responsible for warming the audience before the performance of David Hooper & The Silverbacks. The headliner of the first day is Mike Sanchez & His Band, a capital of rhythm 'n blues and classic rock' n roll for talent and trajectory figure.
The meeting on Saturday 26 September promises to be the most intense of the festival, or at least the longest. A historical Tommy Hunt will receive their deserved public tribute in the Sala Capitol. Beside him, The Velvet Candles and The Gospel Sessions provide spiritual note of the festival, with the superb voice of Michelle David forward. Sabela King and the Heartbreakers represent the home made soul.
The climax of the festival will live on Saturday October 3, when the soul singer Naomi Shelton go to Compostela to get the reverence for be a living legend, as she deserves. Shelton hit with the band The Gospel Queens. With them, the Juan Zelada Band, one of the finest examples of Spanish neo-soul and The Soul Jacket will be responsible for closing a new edition of the Festival Códax Outono.
