As for Bacabú it should be noted that he was born in 1998, when Bordell, Santiago Catalán, Spiral, Honorius, Xermán Refojo artists decided to found an exhibition hall in the center of Lugo, by which until 2002 passed the authors more representative of Galician art of those years.
At the same time, these artists have also used this space to exhibit works themselves individually or collectively, starting a career in which, in addition united by a great friendship, presented in a timely manner to projects under the Bacabú nomenclature.
The richness of this friendship is based on the variety: each artist has his own history and a unique professional style that differentiates it from the rest.
A band, Bordell stands out as having a definite and passionate style, while Santiago Catalán has been able to create a stylish iconography, like Spiral, who seeks inspiration mainly use humor in 80s art.
On the other hand, Honorio is expressed through the mainly figurative sculpture, relying on the deconstruction of the human body, wrapped in a figuration that homesickness can find the same way in the work of Refojo.
It is five artists that began in the 80s in the world of comics and have subsequently come together in joint exhibitions presented in the Bierzo (in 2005) at the Provincial Museum of Lugo (in 2008) or more recently in the Circle of Arts in Lugo (2014). In addition, in December of that year presented in Lugo serigraphs folder in which five artists are represented, and which we will also have several specimens in the exhibition of Virxe da Cerca.
