A Contemporary Art February in Pousadas de Compostela
Este mes de febrero, ha tenido lugar la inauguración de una exposición conjunta de los artistas Joaquin García Gesto y Violeta Bernardo en los espacios de arte del Hotel Virxe da Cerca.
At this exhibition, the artists present a selection of small-format oil paintings belonging to the collection: The sensible chaos, inspired in the Galician rivers.
And where a better place than the capital of Galicia to present a work like this? In addition, at Pousadas de Compostela we have the habitude of supportting art and heritage in our spaces.
To bring about a rapprochement between our customers, both artists, and the exhibition, we decided to do a brief interview to them:
- You participate in this new exhibition in Santiago How would you define the sample?
J.G.: The sample can be defined as intimate.
V.B.: It is a continuation of the project on the chaos of the flow of Galician waters.
- Why have you chosen to present these works in the exhibition?
J.G .: chose the pieces based on the space. Also because they are representative of my work.
- How do you think that influences the choice of the space of Virxe da Cerca when exposing your work?
V.B.: Because its size is appropriate to give Virxen spaces nearby.
J.G .: I think the space, especially in sculpture is very important. The space of Virxe da Cerca is special for being intimate.
- What art project now have in mind?
V.B.: The next projects are in this line of a current interpretation of the landscape and nature as constant artistic, like social anthropology.
J.G.: My next project is a collaboration with ASPNAIS.
Since 2011 we have been carried out temporary exhibitions from professional artists involved with their works in the noble spaces of this building of the eighteenth century. Contemporary art, historical heritage, nature and restore combines in one place, Pousadas de Compostela.
